Russell Ger completed his Honours for a Bachelor of Music in March of 2005. He was a classical voice major for his undergraduate course and majored in conducting during his Honours year. Russell has worked with an impressive array of professional orchestras for a conductor of his age. Through the prestigious Symphony Australia Conductor Development Programme, Russell has conducted the Adelaide and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras, as well as The Queensland Orchestra. He has also conducted a number of other professional orchestras, including an ad-hoc ensemble that he conducted for his Opera House debut in 2003. In 2004, Russell was invited to Melbourne to conduct a sell-out concert with Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne Male Voice Choir, and most recently, Russell travelled to New Zealand to work with the Auckland Philharmonia in an international master-class.
